On Saturday, Sept., 26th,  The RC of Burton-Middlefield (BMR) held an easy fund raiser.  We partnered with the regional Goodwill coordinator Colleen Porter for a collection drive that took place in the parking lot of the Century Village in Burton just off the village square.  Goodwill delivered a big 24 Ft. covered trailer to Century Village, pulled by their vehicle, and dropped it off for the three hours of the collection.  Six BMR members and our perpetual helper, Sue Fox, staffed the collection trailer and helped move donations from vehicles to the trailer.  Any gently used items in good condition (clothes, bikes, small appliances, pictures and almost anything you can think of) helped fill the trailer to near capacity. At promptly noon the Goodwill employee returned to the parking lot and hooked the trailer up and drove away back to the Goodwill warehouse.   I can hardly think of an easier fund raiser.  No registrations, collection of funds, forms to fill out or accounting necessary.

If your club is interested in a quick and easy fund raiser this is for you.    The only things you need are an small empty parking lot to hold the collection in with easy in and out access, about 10 or 15 signs put up about two weeks ahead advertising the Goodwill collection, four or five club volunteers the day of the collection and three hours of time on a Saturday morning.  I might also mention some great club camaraderie goes along with it.
